Joel graduated from San Diego State University with a BA in English Literature, emphasis in creative writing. In Los Angeles he worked his way up the production ladder in music videos and commercials eventually producing for some of the top directors in the industry including McG, Wayne Isham, Joesph Kahn and Trey Parker. Joel has also written, directed, edited, photographed and produced short films, documentaries, music videos, commercials and sketch comedy for a variety of clients through his own production company, Pile Driver Media, established in 1999. TURNKEY HD was conceived and created by Joel Newman and developed in partnership with David Barnblatt and Adam Meltzer.
